: Mission Joplin
Joplin, Missouri is coming back from a devastating tornado on May 22, 2011, and Kokomo First EPC is excited to be a small part of the volunteer effort to help rebuild new homes. We hope to work on a home for one of the 550+ families that are living in temporary housing. This is a chance to be “the hands and feet of Christ” and do meaningful work that will have a lasting impact on people’s lives. While we stay at New Creation EPC, we will also have opportunities to participate in this church’s special outreach in the devastated community. The Lenten special offering will go to purchase building materials and supplies for the home we’ll be working on. Watch for other announcements about how you can help the mission effort in Joplin. The team members are paying their own expenses for the week, but will need your prayers for safety and opportunity to show God’s love in all we do there.
